Correct the record without erasing the record
A durable research record should change when evidence changes without pretending earlier versions never existed.
Correction classes
- Factual correction: a concrete fact, date, quote, statistic, or description was wrong.
- Legal-status update: legislation, case posture, regulation, or controlling authority changed.
- Source/provenance correction: a citation, URL, hash, source identity, or attribution was inaccurate.
- Interpretation revision: the underlying evidence remains but the project’s analysis changes.
- Presentation-only edit: grammar, accessibility, formatting, or navigation changes without substantive effect.
Public revision record
Material publication-level changes are summarized on Updates. Per-report source hashes identify the exact uploaded research object that was rendered. Future revised research sources should receive a new source hash and visible revision note.
How to evaluate an old citation
Use the canonical report URL, visible status, current modified date, report metadata JSON, and source SHA-256 together. The exact source hash establishes which underlying research object the page was built from.
